Zouves Fertility Center
The cycle commences with stimulation of the ovaries using injectable fertilitymedications and thereafter monitoring is performed through blood tests and ultrasounds. When the follicles reach an optimum size, an injection of hCG isgiven to trigger the final maturation of eggs.
The eggs are retrieved through the vagina with ultrasound using a lightanesthetic. Once the eggs are identified they are fertilized in the laboratoryeither through mixing when the sperm parameters and the eggs are healthy allthrough intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) when there is either a spermor an egg factor.

California IVF: Davis Fertility Center - Specializing in: IVF, ICSI, PCOS, Male Infertility, IUI, PGD, and Endometriosis
IVF is a procedure involving the stimulation of multiple ovarian follicles using gonadotropins. These follicles are then retrieved at the appropriate time. After fertilization in the lab, the subsequent embryos are transferred into the uterus where implantation can occur. This process bypasses the fallopian tubes and increases fertilization rates when there are problems with low sperm counts.

Laurel Fertility Care - San Francisco, CA - Home
Miscarriages or spontaneous pregnancy losses occur as a normal part of reproduction. Our ability to detect very early pregnancies by high resolution ultrasound and hormone (beta-hCG) levels have increased the awareness of these losses. Sporadic pregnancy loss occurs in about 15% of all clinically recognized pregnancies in women under age 35. The frequency of spontaneous pregnancy loss increases with maternal age, largely because of the increase in chromosomal abnormalities within the eggs.
