Often, there arecombined factors that are contributing to a couple’s inability to create andsustain a healthy pregnancy. IVF is a method of assisted reproduction in which the man's sperm and thewoman's egg (oocyte) are combined in a laboratory dish, where fertilizationoccurs. The resulting embryo is then transferred to the uterus to developnaturally. Usually, two to four embryos are transferred with each cycle.
